Vince Zampella, a Gaming Pioneer, Has Died in a Los Angeles Vehicle Accident

The visionary game developer, renowned for co-creating the wildly popular franchise Call of Duty, has passed away in a car accident in California at the age of 55.

Zampella's death was confirmed by Electronic Arts, the publisher that controls Respawn Entertainment, the video game company which he helped establish.

The celebrated video game developer lost his life when his vehicle was involved in a crash and caught fire on a highway in LA on Sunday morning, as reported by.

"This is a devastating loss, and our deepest sympathies go to Vince's family, those closest to him, and everyone impacted by his creative vision," a spokesperson for Electronic Arts commented.
