The Renowned Musician Encourages Backing to Get Palestinian Solidarity Lullaby to UK Christmas No 1.

A campaign is aiming to send a traditional song from Palestine to the Christmas number one spot. The campaign seeks to deliver assistance to communities in Gaza while also showcasing Palestinian culture and creativity.

A Possibility for Unity and an "Surprise Victory"

Composer and producer Brian Eno, who contributes to the track, stated that the release called 'Lullaby' represents a opportunity to stand with Palestinians during the holidays. He noted the potential for an surprise number one.

“It would be incredible if that occurred, yes,” he commented. “I wouldn't be completely disappointed if it doesn’t, festive releases are a unique phenomenon.”

Powerful Theme of Dignity and Freedom

Palestinian singer Nai Barghouti, who performs on the version of a folk song called Yamma Mwel El Hawa, explained the song's defiant core message.

“The song holds a deeply meaningful spot for a lot of people,” Barghouti said. “The message is that I would choose to perish with honor than live a life without freedom. That’s the main theme of the song; we want to live a life of dignity that we deserve as Palestinians.”

Recording Origins and Featured Artists

The single was laid down in the wake of a large-scale benefit event held in late summer. First conceived to be captured during the live event, the piece was cut from the show due to the event running long.

The notable list of performers featured on Lullaby includes a range of acclaimed names from the music world. All took part in the earlier concert, which managed to collect a substantial amount for humanitarian aid.

Creation and Launch

Lullaby was brought to life by a group of producers and composers. The single blends a fusion of the traditional Arabic lyrics with freshly written English words.

The organizers behind the campaign have emphasized that their aim is to generate maximum funds for a dedicated fund. These proceeds will be distributed to Palestinian causes through an established charity.

“There is no a rigid aim,” a representative said. “We aim for as much as possible. Naturally, the more the merrier. All proceeds are directed out to Gaza.”

The reality in the territory was noted for its extreme devastation, with a vast majority of infrastructure said to be levelled or seriously harmed.

“In that context, a handful of millions is unlikely to make an enormous impact. But I think the significant factor is primarily making this cause better known and demonstrating there’s another side to the story.”

The single 'Lullaby' is launching this Friday. Additionally, a video of the solidarity show will be made available for streaming on a popular streaming site from mid-December.
