That Gruesome Animated Film Conclusion That Lingers Fans

Out of all the adult-oriented cartoon movies I’ve ever watched, nothing has remained with me as much as the fear-filled ending of a viscerally violent as well as highly provocative 2022 movie The Unicorn Wars.

Back in 2015’s, this Spain-based writer-director created a dark, somber , often savage universe that included a few small , desolate twinges of hope.

While Unicorn Wars appears as it originated from an impulse to advance the medium further, the director clarified that it was actually an attempt to communicate a global, cross-cultural theme concerning “the shared root of all wars.”

This theme is expressed via a squad of vividly colored bears , obviously modeled after a popular series of cuddly characters.

Being raised in a society focused on militarism and the military-industrial complex, a lot of these animals are fixated on exterminating the mythical beasts, thanks to a sacred text which states them they previously were rulers of the woods, before the horned beings forced them out.

A few haven’t fully bought into the indoctrination, , prefer to try out drugs or engage sexually in the forest.

Unlike their cuddly counterparts, these colorful critters show sexual organs and clear sex drives.

For one especially vicious, skeptical animal, the character Bluey, the battle against the unicorns transforms into a route toward dominance — and especially to dominance over his softer, more compassionate sibling the bear Tubby.

The character is a bully , an apparent antisocial figure , and while terror takes over his squad and takes his fellow soldiers individually, he grabs more and more control on his own behalf, through ever more bloody, harmful methods.

At the same time, the horned creatures are experiencing their own terror, through an expanding, harmful creature in their habitat.

“Initially, it feels like a comedy,” the filmmaker stated. “Yet it turns into a more serious and sad film. And ultimately, it transforms into a scary feature.”

The Unicorn Wars commences similar to one of the most whimsical movies by an iconic filmmaker, that discover a mischievous joy in letting animated figures curse, shoot each other, or have intimate relations.

Afterward it evolves into something more like a darker movie from the same artist, featuring progressively graphic violence and a palpable connection to the actual suffering of war.

By the end, it is a full-on theatrical horror carnage.

The horror that turns the film an ideal spooky-season movie kicks in well before than one might expect.

The Unicorn Wars is one for the most dedicated fans of gore, for fans of graphic films who want to see a movie they have not seen on-screen before, and can endure a narrative that offers absolutely no punches.

Watch it in a dark room free from interruptions, and the finale will dig under your skin and stay with you.
