Soccer Analyst Chris Sutton Battles Artist Olly Murs in Top Flight Predictions

The Gunners' ten-match winning streak was ended by Sunderland prior to the global break, but will the Premier League leaders recover against local foes Spurs this Sunday?

"{I believe like Arsenal are miles ahead of Tottenham at the moment but Spurs boss Thomas Frank will have a strategy for this game," stated soccer specialist Chris Sutton.

"Frank will attempt to neutralize Arsenal, who have not always been at their sparkling best this season - but Mikel Arteta's side usually still find a way to win."

Sutton is making predictions for all 380 Premier League fixtures this season, versus artificial intelligence, readers and a variety of special visitors.

In the twelfth round, he takes on performer Olly Murs, who is a United fan.

Murs' new record, the new release, is available on the weekend.

Soccer and Family Experiences

Murs is a skilled footballer as well as a successful artist and has been a star of multiple Soccer Aid games down the years - but he is not planning a professional comeback as a player.

"{I actually played in a benefit match the other evening for a mate of mine," he explained. "The side was trailing 3-1 when I came off in the second half, and they went on to win 4-3, so you can read into that what you want!

"I still love football, but I hurt my knee a few years ago and it even now isn't where I want it to be. I hope I could play more but the unpredictability of the game means it's too risky for me in my profession to do it seriously again.

"Plus I am forty-one now, and we are not all Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very content not playing football and I am gearing up for the moment that my daughter or son chooses to play instead."

The singer and his wife his partner have a young family, Madison and their son, and he is ready to emulate his dad by becoming their manager.

"I will not force football on our kids but I've already told Amelia that if they do get the bug for it then I will have to go and get my coaching badges - and I will likely be managing their weekend football side," he said.

"I observed my nephews play a lot, and I truly got into it, and I obviously was involved with a soccer team for a while too.

"My dad did it with us when I was a child, which is likely where I inherited it. He managed our side for several seasons and had a wonderful time with it. That could be the next step for me as well, and I am excited to it!"

Top Division Predictions

Weekend, 22 November

  • Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT

Chelsea may have to be patient for Cole Palmer's comeback from fitness issues but their attack is already more potent with Joao Pedro and Liam Delap both back fit.

I still think this fixture will be fairly close, though. Burnley are well organised and their sole at Turf Moor losses so far have been against Liverpool and the Gunners.

This smells of a 1-1 draw to me, but I am actually going to choose the London side to edge it for what would be their third consecutive league win in a row.

Sutton's prediction: 1-2

The singer's pick: The Blues will be superior. 1-3

AI's outlook: 0-2

  • Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT

The Cherries have been defeated in their previous couple matches - albeit both of them were away - but they got thoroughly beaten by Aston Villa last time out which shocked me.

In contrast, West Ham won two in a row before the international break and, although both of those fixtures were at their stadium, they do look strong again.

West Ham's sole on the road victory this campaign came at Forest in August, when their manager Nuno Espirito Santo was previously Forest manager.

So, what on earth do I predict here - can West Ham extending their run under Nuno, or the home side bouncing back?

I will go with the Cherries, because I think what happened against Villa was a blip.

The pundit's forecast: 2-0

The guest's prediction: Bournemouth are performing strongly but the visitors have improved under their boss. 2-2

The algorithm's pick: 1-1

  • Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT

The Bees were seen as one of the favourites for the drop before the campaign began, but they have impressed a several observers under Keith Andrews and are in fine fettle with three in their past four games.

My son advised me to get Brentford forward Thiago in my Fantasy Football squad a few weeks ago and, guess what, I ignored the advice.

Thiago will likely score again on Saturday but I am still not going to pick him or back the away side at Brighton's ground.

They have not had much fortune on the travel this season, and the Seagulls are always decent at their stadium. The visitors will attempt to attack on the break but I feel Fabian Hurzeler's team pose much more of a danger.

The analyst's prediction: 2-1

The singer's prediction: It could be a match where you expect there is going to be a many goals but it in reality turns out to be quite tight. 1-1

The computer's prediction: 2-1

  • Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT

This is a massive game for Fulham, who have lost five of their past six games.

Fulham have got lots of quality in their team but it still seems like they could be sucked into a drop zone battle.

As for Sunderland, indeed they are the surprise package of the top flight campaign so far.

Their performance in the two-all draw with the Gunners last time out was superb. We have not seen any other team rough up the North London side like that this season, and they were more than a match for them.

The logical choice to do to back the Black Cats here, because they are obviously capable of disrupting the hosts up too and, the last time they were in this part of London, they defeated Chelsea at the close of last month.

But I am not choose that. Instead, I truly need to carry on opposing Sunderland with my predictions. I am claiming a lot of responsibility for their good results because they clearly enjoy to defy my predictions.

Looking at Fulham's at Craven Cottage record, the sole side they have been defeated by is the league leaders. Marco Silva's side will be absolutely desperate for a good result, so I am going to say they will pick up three much-needed points.

The expert's forecast: 1-0

The guest's choice: I'm aware the visitors are doing well and additionally that the hosts are on a bad run... but Fulham have nonetheless been decent at Craven Cottage this campaign. 2-0

AI's outlook: 2-0

  • Anfield, 15:00 GMT

This is a tough one to call. The Reds have lost seven of their last ten matches in every tournament, but might they be one of the sides who benefit from the {international break|
