Netflix Selects Perfect Performer for Bon Clay in One Piece Season 3
Baroque Works is poised to play a huge role in the forthcoming season on Netflix of One Piece, although the real showdown won’t unfold until the third season, and a beloved, popular member has recently been selected.
The streaming service revealed Tuesday that Cole Escola has joined the One Piece cast for the third season and will play Mr. 2. This character can use their power to morph into an identical duplicate of any individual they’ve made contact with with their right hand. Escola, who is identifies as non-binary and prefers they/them pronouns, will portray a interpretation of that role reimagined as gender non-binary, rather than as a drag queen, in the live-action series, differing from the original manga and animated series.
This performer is joined by multiple new cast members tasked with bringing the organization to reality, such as chief the main antagonist, brought to life by the well-known actor, an emerging star as a key member, and a familiar face, who is also part of the ensemble as the monarch of the fictional land.
Although this character is a important part of the organization, the persona won’t appear until One Piece the third season. Considering the next season expected to adapt the Little Garden segment, this signals a significant shift in the schedule of their first appearance, one that could signal further changes to the plot development.
Their mix of sharp comedic timing and emotional depth makes them a standout choice for the part. Along with their current animated role in the animated feature Boys Go to Jupiter, they earned widespread acclaim and several accolades for writing and starring in the successful stage production Oh Mary!, highlighting the versatility they’ll add to one of One Piece’s highly regarded characters.
The platform’s adapted One Piece program is scheduled to come back for its second season on the tenth of March, 2026.
