Former Doctor Faces Sexual Assault Allegations Against Thirty-Eight Individuals in His Care

Legal authorities report that a ex- physician now faces charges for carrying out assaults against 38 victims who were under his care.

Details of the Grave Charges

Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham has been charged with dozens of acts of sexual assault – including some against minors under the age of thirteen – spanning the period from 2017 to 2021.

One senior CPS official stated, “Legal teams have diligently worked to support a thorough and intricate investigation, meticulously examining the evidence to establish that there is sufficient evidence to bring the case to trial and that it is in the public interest.”

Scope of the Police Inquiry

The charges come after what investigators called a “complex investigation” into reported assaults at two hospitals: the Royal Stoke university hospital and a facility in Dudley.

The defendant is due to appear at the local magistrates' court on January 20th.

Prosecutors outline the 45 sexual offences include:

  • Fifteen counts of sexual assault.
  • 17 counts of penetrative assault.
  • 9 counts of assault on a minor under thirteen.
  • Three counts of penetrative assault on a child under thirteen.
  • One count of attempting to assault by penetration.
